On to this beauty; for sale is a very well kept 1978 Kawasaki KZ650 in 2-tone custom Brown metallic.  Engine is a 4 cylinder, 4 stroke DOHC 5-speed.  Bike starts and runs good, and has great power on the road; very comfortable ride.  I purchased this bike at an estate sale earlier this year and gave it a thorough detailing and had it to a reputable mechanic right away for all needed repairs.  While getting the bike road ready, my wife and I purchased new home and now a kitchen and bathroom remodel has taken priority over this beautiful KZ 🙁

Bike is in very nice shape (some of my bike enthusiast friends have described it as “mint” or “cherry” although I reserve those terms for bikes that would go in a museum).  Having said that, it’s a definite head-turner.  Paint has a glossy shine, with only a few minor chips and scratches here and there.  Chrome also looks great with just a little bit of pitting in places one would expect on a bike of it’s age.  A little elbow grease could take it even further.

Mechanically the bike is sound; recent tune up, front fork seals replaced, rear brake replaced, ready to ride.  All turn signals, headlight (hi and lo beam), tail light, and horn work properly.  Tires are in excellent shape, grips are brand new.  Bike has not been ridden much this season so it is a little cold blooded when first starting it up, but runs great once it’s warm.

Altogether I believe the next owner of this bike will be happy with its condition, but keep in mind it is a nearly 40 year old bike that will need the usual upkeep along the way.  If you have any questions please ask before bidding and I will promptly respond.  *Original Clymer Manual included as well.
